Reiki was rediscovered in the middle of 19th century by Dr. Mikao Usui of Japan.

Reiki is not taught in the way other healing techniques are taught.  It is transferred to the student by the Reiki Master during an attunement process.

 

Once a person has been opened up to become a channel for Reiki, concentrated Life Force Energy starts flowing through his hands of its own accord and he will retain this ability for the rest of his life.

Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
